Community

Treat yourself right in 2019 and join in the Self Love Winter Workshop at The Holland Project on Saturday, 1/12. Focusing on dealing with our “winter blues” using emotional intelligence and making values-based goals for the new year, UNR psychology graduate student Ali Szarko will lead participants in a 3-hour experiential training on the “self” and the steps we can take on a daily basis to be more loving of that ever-changing person.

Art

Bibo Coffee Co on Record St is hosting the opening of Trasher: Amateur Portraits of Professional Skateboarders. Featuring the comical work of local artists Mikey Chanez, Mirjam Solveig and David Hall, the exhibit comprises work inspired by their favorite skaters. The reception will be in the Holland Project Micro Gallery at Bibo, 6-8pm on Saturday, 1/12

Games

If your head is full of useless information, head over to Shea’s Tavern on Sunday, 1/13  for Trivia Night with Quiz Mistress Aubrey Forston. Bring your friends and sign up for the shenanigans. Top three teams will walk away with bar tabs, all starting at 8pm.

Broadly Entertaining, an NYC and Reno-based entertainment group taking over The Loving Cup every Wednesday with Chicken Bingo. Featuring G. Broadly in a big chicken suit, DJ Finger Lickin’ drink specials and lots of fun prizes, you’ll have a clucking good time. Start counting your eggs at 8pm on Wednesday 1/16.

Music

Friday 1/11, Weapons of Mass Creation continue their local music series about peace, love and revolution at Virginia Street Brewhouse, from 7pm-11pm.

By popular demand, The English Beat returns to The Saint on Saturday, 1/12, playing all the hits and deep cuts. The ticketed event starts at 8pm, with tickets still available at Recycled Records.
