The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) has unanimously adopted Complete Streets, a new plan to enhance safety and mobility in the Truckee Meadows.

The plan analyzed traffic and other safety data to determine what types of improvements should be made, and at what hours.

Examples of Complete Streets implementations are new bikes lakes, wider sidewalks, enhanced pedestrian crossings with flashing lights, and transit stops with new amenities.

“This plan will help guide future decisions when we’re making safety enhancements in neighborhoods. We want to thank the local jurisdictions and many residents in the Truckee Meadows who attended meetings, submitted comments and shared their ideas online,” RTC Planning Director Amy Cummings said.
