Since summer is right around the corner, Standard Management Company (SMC) is providing ways to manage pool safety at their properties in the Reno and Las Vegas areas. In order to improve residents’ overall poolside safety, SMC will be hosting swim safety lessons on Thursday, June 20 from 11:30a.m. – 12:30p.m. at The Boulders Apartments in Reno and at Bay Breeze Apartments in Las Vegas.
“The safety of our residents is very important to us and we want to provide whatever resources we can for a fun, safe summer for everyone!” Said Tony Kuper, Director of Residental Operations.
Statistics from the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention show nearly one in five people who die from drowning in pools are children 14-years-old and younger. For every child who dies from drowning, another five receive emergency care for nonfatal submersion injuries. SMC is proud to help raise awareness and support the cause of safe swimming practices.
“Our staff loves the idea of locking in these swim safety lessons on our annual events calendar,” said Kuper. “We are so excited to be hosting this event for a second summer in a row, with many more to come!”
SMC wants their pools to be a safe and enjoyable environment for all of their residents. These safety tips and lessons will be open to all ages for no cost, with the help of CPR certified swim instructors.
