The Nevada Chapter CLC recently hosted their fifth annual Sporting Clay Shoot benefiting the Academy for Career Education (ACE) Charter High School.
The event raised more than $15,000 for ACE. The money will be used for supplies, program enhancements and to help offset transportation costs for students.
ACE’s mission is to infuse the standard high school core-curriculum with career-applicable training methods in construction and engineering. One of the hallmark programs of this incredible school is the student-built house.
Over the years, ACE students have built nine single-family homes giving them real-world experience they can draw upon after graduation. ACE also works in partnership with Truckee Meadows Community College on many of their programs allowing some students to graduate with a high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree…. and almost always a job-offer.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the participation and support of CLC and AGC members. There were 65 sponsors and 175 shooters in attendance, making it their biggest clay shoot to date.
