Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada announced today that has received a $110,000 donation.
“We are so grateful for the generous people in our community that are able to help us in our mission of assisting the less fortunate,” said spokesman Matt Vaughn. “Yesterday, we received a bequest from George and Dorothy Fox for $110,000 to go towards our poverty assistance programs.”
Vaughn said that the donation will allow the charity to continue to provide numerous resources — food, social services, etc. — to its clients.
George and Dorothy were dedicated parishioners of St. Rose of Lima and very active in their faith, Vaughn added. “Dorothy volunteered in the community, and both she and George were passionate about helping the poor. We are incredibly humbled that they chose to leave such a generous gift for Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, which we will use to honor their memory in our work of easing the pain of poverty for individuals and families in need.”
