The Glenn Group welcomes Kara J. Kelley – hired to manage Nevada’s Sesquicentennial celebration

Date:

GLENN GROUP NEWS RELEASE – Mid-October, The Glenn Group, a Nevada-based advertising, interactive and public relations agency, announced it had retained Kara J. Kelley to serve as the executive director of the Nevada 150, creating and managing events and marketing the celebration of Nevada’s statehood anniversary. The Glenn Group’s public relations role was recently expanded to include day-to-day management responsibilities and fundraising efforts.

Previously Kelley served as the chief executive officer for the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce (LVCC), the third largest metropolitan chamber in the nation. Under her leadership, she was responsible for revenue growth of more than 40 percent due to her successful marketing and sales efforts. She increased membership of the LVCC by more than 30 percent and instituted many successful initiatives. Kelley also created The Chamber Insurance & Benefits, LLC, a for-profit subsidiary that brought in revenues of over $1,000,000. Since leaving the LVCC, Kelley has established The Kelley Company, a management and consulting company.

“We could not have found a better person to manage the many components of this year long celebration of Nevada’s 150th birthday than Kara Kelley,” said Valerie Glenn, chief executive officer of The Glenn Group. “We are confident that under Kara’s leadership we will carry out Governor Brian Sandoval’s vision for a successful celebration of our Sesquicentennial, reaching out to every corner of our great state and paying tribute to our history, culture and accomplishments.”

“I am honored to be working with The Glenn Group to help Nevada celebrate its Sesquicentennial,” said Kelley. “My hope is that everyone will look back on this celebration years from now as a special part of our state’s history, and I look forward to keeping our communities engaged and to celebrate 150 years of statehood. Together, let’s make this celebration a once-in-a-lifetime commemoration of our history and culture.”

Kelley currently serves as a Gubernatorial-appointed board member with the Nevada Board of Museums and History, board and financial committee member for The Mob Museum and Three Square. Her outstanding achievements at both the LVCC and in her community prove that she has expertise in management, strategic marketing and working with non-profit organizations.
