Art and wine lovers can spend this Saturday afternoon sipping wine and shopping for art and jewelry as part of this year’s “Arts In Bloom” Art and Wine Festival. The annual event normally happens on Mother’s Day, but was moved up this year to be a part of ARTOWN.
New this year, event-goers will be able to purchase a wrist band and commemorative glass for $20, and taste more than 20 varieties of wine. Wines available will range from a light pinot grigio to a hearty red zinfandel.
The free event also allows some of the region’s most impressive artists to showcase and sell their work. Paintings, woodwork, glasswork, pottery, jewelry, and unique handcrafted items will all be available.
The list of wineries is growing every day, and includes: Acrobat, Apothic, Civello, Ecco, Guenoc, Kenwood, Korbel, Row Eleven, Stratton Lummis, Vino Noceto, and William Hill.
Cases and bottles of wine will also be available for purchase.
A portion of the wine tasting proceeds will benefit the Washoe County School District’s Art Program.
The event will go from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Victorian Square in Sparks.
