Starskate, All Your Sisters, The Dawner Party
Let the math-noise-pop-weird-post-punk-once instrumental roll on! On October 21st, Starskate is playing with All Your Sisters and the Dawner Party. Starskate is ex Batman vs. Predator and completely awesome. All Your Sisters is Fafafa’s Jordan Morrison rocking the guitar with a drum machine and programmed synths. It also is awesome. The Dawner Party fall between Sonic Youth and something much stupider, but in a good awesome kind of way. It’s all going to at the HPHQ, maybe for the last time… Friday, October 21st at the HPHQ Doors 7:30pm/Show 8pm, $5. DON’T.MISS.THIS.
Halloween Cover Show
IT’S BACK, THE BEST THING EVER!!!! Holland Project’s Annual Halloween Show. This year we have Tom Waits, a traveling Bob Dylan, various Motown covers in the form of Down Like Motown, Berlin, Neutral Milk Hotel, Ramones, Rocket from the Crypt, Pixies, and Weezer. All done by local Reno artists! Every year is awesome and every year it is cheaper if you wear a costume…come as Dracula or a bed sheet ghost. This will be the second show at the new space! Saturday, October 22nd at 140 Vesta.  $2 w/ costumes, $5 without.  Music begins at 7pm – SHARP!

October Fundraisers – Bowl Opening, Makeup Class, Blaffle Pop
There are so many good options this month for helping Holland achieve its $50,000 goal to move into and secure our new space at 140 Vesta Street.  For instance, on Sunday the 23rd, makeup artist Edin Carpenter will lead a makeup workshop featuring  tips and tricks, as well as debut a killer makeup line from NYC that’s all the rage and super good for your skin.  It’s at 5pm and costs $25 (includes the class, drinks and snacks, samples) and is bound to be a ton of fun.  Then, you can join us on Tuesday, October 25 for the opening of Bowl Restaurant (by Sezmu’s Larry Dunning and Carlos Leon) in West Street Market–you test out the food and proceeds benefit Holland, so easy!  There will be specials, a dj, and the debut of a mural by Joe C. Rock.And all month long is Holland’s raffle extravaganza, Blaffle Pop.  Over $3,500 in amazing prizes, tickets are $50 (only 150 sold!) and are available at www.hollandreno.org/donate/blaffle-pop/.
