CARSON CITY — NV Energy is withdrawing their request for a right-of-way grant for the proposed Blackhawk to Heybourne 120 kV transmission line.  The company determined that the line is not needed at this time.  The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Carson City District-Sierra Front Field Office has been hold since May 2010 for the preparation of an environmental impact statement (EIS) to analyze the impacts of the proposed 120 kilovolt electrical transmission line and two new substations that would have crossed Federal public lands in portions of Storey, Lyon, Carson City, and Douglas counties.  The EIS will not be completed.

If NV Energy should decide in the future that the transmission line project is needed, a new right-of-way application would be necessary, which would restart the National Environmental Policy Act process with scoping.
