Free shred day at Greater Nevada Credit Union

Date:

SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU) will host its 4th annual Shred Day on September 24 from 9am to noon. The event will take place in the parking lot at the credit union’s Reno branch, located at 6745 Sierra Center Parkway.

Community residents are invited to drop off as much personal paper documentation they would like to safely destroy and recycle. Documents must be removed from binders, though attached staples and paper clips are acceptable.

“Shred Day helps us accomplish several things,” said Rose Smith, GNCU Operations Manager. “First it reduces the risk of identity theft and fraud by enabling residents to securely destroy documents that contain personal and financial information. Second, it helps the environment through properly recycling documents, rather than tossing them into our landfill. Plus, it allows folks to shred and dispose of any amount of personal paperwork for free.”

American Document Destruction will provide the shredding and recycling services on Shred Day, which will coincide with the credit union’s Enterprise Car Rental Sales event.
