As construction site safety issues continue to be argued at the Nevada Legislature, the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors will recognize its most conscientious companies. They will also have certified speaking professional and author Bob Losyk make a keynote presentation on stress in the workplace.

The Nevada Chapter will hold its 14th Annual Golden Hard Hat Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 20 in the Poolside Terrace at the Sparks Nugget Hotel Casino.

More than 35 companies including building and engineering general contractors, specialty contractors and suppliers will be recognized for AGC of America Awards based on no lost time from accidents.

Keynote speaker at the luncheon will be Bob Losyk, author of “Managing a Changing Workforce: Achieving Outstanding Service with Today’s Employees” and “Get a Grip! Overcoming Stress and Thriving in the Workplace.”

AGC will present the Safe Site Award for the companies that have shown an outstanding dedication to safety as a part of the AGC Safe Site Program.  AGC members must submit an application detailing their safety and training procedures. The Nevada Chapter AGC was formed in 1939 by a group of Nevadans to replace the dangerous gravel roads in northern Nevada with modern asphalt. Now the group has become known for more than building roads. AGC members have battled floods, built hospitals, parks and schools. The AGC is designed to create a cohesive environment in the construction field for the purpose of creating unity among members, building a professional work environment, increasing work satisfaction, and improving job performance. The Nevada Chapter trains hundreds of Northern Nevada construction professional in safety, technique and business practices each year.  The Nevada Chapter AGC building is located at 5400 Mill St. Reno, NV 89502.
