This Is Reno wins more national journalism awards in 2021

Date:

This Is Reno received this year local, statewide and national awards for reporting, diversity efforts and advertising excellence.

“Our hard-working journalists made these awards happen,” said Bob Conrad, editor. “They suffered a lot of unncessary hostility and abuse covering COVID-19 and numerous, dangerous protests.

“Getting recognized by prominent journalism organizations shows their work had an impact. We also hope it shows they cover their community in a big-hearted way even when the topics are not always flattering.”

The following organizations recognized This Is Reno this year:

  • National Association of Black Journalists, Student Achievement, General News Reporting on Reno riot coverage.
  • Nevada Press Association, Advertising Excellence third place award.
  • Society for Professional Journalists Las Vegas, Third Place Innovator of the Year Award with Noticerio Móvil and KUNR Reno Public Radio for collaborating on providing Spanish-language COVID-19 reporting.

This Is Reno would appreciate your support. We are accepting tax-deductible donations to cover housing issues in 2022. Any amount is appreciated.
