Local Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. chapter to host ceremony for new Northern Nevada Chapter

The George W. Porter Northern Nevada Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. is set to host a cake-cutting ceremony in Sparks Saturday, March 1, at the J.A. Nugget. The ceremony is to officially announce the chapter. Keeping in line with Tuskegee Airmen Inc. the new chapter will help individuals and local businesses network, engage in career-developing workshops and offer opportunity to celebrate the legacy of the original Tuskegee Airmen in attendance.

The event is open to the public. It is set for 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the South Pacific room at the Nugget. Questions about the ceremony can be directed to Torry Thompson at [email protected]  or at (775) 772.3171.

Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. is a non-profit nationwide organization dedicated to honoring the accomplishments and perpetuating the history of African-Americans who participated in air crew, ground crew and operations support training in the Army Air Corps during World War II. The organization introduces young people to the world of aviation and science through local and national programs, and provides annual scholarships.
