City of Reno hosts Olympic style winter games for seniors

What:

The Reno-Tahoe Senior Winter Games is a program dedicated to promoting and implementing fitness programs and activities for people 50 years and older. Participants compete within age groups to win gold, silver, and bronze medals. The games include hockey slap shot, speed skating, downhill skiing, table tennis, bowling, baggo, archery, Texas hold ’em, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and pickle ball. Competitions are grouped into men, women, coed, and mixed doubles categories.

When:

The event takes place from February 3, 2014 through February 14, 2014 at various start times.

Mt. Rose Ski Resort, 22222 Mount Rose Highway, Reno, NV 89511
Neil Road Recreation Center, 3925 Neil Road, Reno, NV 89502
Rink on the River, 10 North Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89501
Registration:

Visit Reno.gov/SeniorGames or call (775) 334-2262 to register. The registration fee is $20, which includes a t-shirt, water bottle, bag, and entry to the Valentine’s dinner and dance. In addition, there is a per-sport fee of $10.
