Reno Police arrest man in January sexual assault

On Jan. 13, Reno Police officers were made aware of a sexual assault that occurred by a known suspect.

The suspect befriended the victim while attending a local support group. On the above date the suspect went to the victim’s Reno residence where he asked for admittance. Once inside, they had an intimate encounter until the suspect grew increasingly violent. The suspect immediately left the scene and was later arrested on unrelated charges.

Upon completing the investigation, detectives determined that he was responsible for the earlier crime and the following additional charges were filed.

William, James Vance, 50, was charged with two counts of sexual assault causing substantial bodily harm and battery to commit sexual assault.
