The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows will hold its annual Summer Kickoff Fiesta on Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Club’s Donald W. Reynolds Facility at 2680 E. 9th Street. The free event features food, face-painting, bounce houses, art projects, piñatas and more.
The Club will also offer FREE memberships during the event, with parent orientations in English and Spanish. Orientations are required for new and renewing members.
The Club is more than 9,500 members strong at 20 locations throughout northern Nevada, offering before- and after-school programming that challenges kids to be better students and better citizens, toward the goal of building a great future for our community.
During Saturday’s Fiesta, the Club will also be offering sign-ups for summer camp. This year, kids will get an opportunity to participate in specialized camps with themes like drama, Campus Kids, robotics and Get Fit for Life, in addition to our traditional summer day camp – all for just $40 a week. Meals are included and teens are free.
Programs are also offered for young children at the Early Learning Program at the E. L. Wiegand Youth Center for those aged 6 weeks old to 6 years old, along with one healthy meal and two snacks each day and personal hygiene lessons such as tooth brushing after each meal. Additional fees are associated with the Early Learning Program.
