On Saturday, August 1, the Nevada Museum of Art will host an inclusive wedding faire aimed to help all loving couples plan their special day. In addition to meeting an array of talented and tolerant vendors, lovebirds can attend a variety of presentations and panels on financial and family planning and seasonal wedding trends. This free event takes place from 11 am to 3 pm and is open to all members of the community.

Participating vendors span the Northern Nevada region and represent a variety of wedding services. A snapshot of participants include Camelot Party Rentals, Creative Coverings, Brad Horn Photography, Celadon, Grand Sierra Resort, Lindsay Lu, Pedal to the Medal, Reno Local Food Group, and Rounds Bakery. All vendors support marriage equality.

Art of Love attendees are also invited to attend a presentation on wedding industry trends and educational panel discussions regarding family and financial planning tips specific to the LGBTQ community. Presenters include Kate Patay, CPCE, Executive Director of Sales & Marketing for Creative Coverings; Karen Vibe, CFP, CRPS, First Vice President, Financial Advisor, Morgan Stanley; Caren Jenkins, Principal Attorney/Founder at Nevada Legacy Law, Inc.; and Rodney E. Sumpter, Esq., Estate and Family Lawyer.

The seminars will be hosted by Sean Savoy, an ordained minister, spiritual educator, public speaker, and community builder who is a proponent of interfaith relations and an LGBT advocate. He is the founder and director of the Nevada Interfaith Coalition for Equality and Inclusion (NICE), established in January 2015 after same-sex marriage was legalized in Nevada. Savoy will also conduct one of the presentations.

To round out the day, a number of community organizations will be onsite to share information on health and LGBTQ advocacy resources available in Northern Nevada: Nevada Interfaith Coalition for Equality & Inclusion (NICE), Build Our Center (BOC), Canyonwalker Connections, Northern Nevada HOPES, PFLAG Reno-Sparks, and Spectrum.
