Statement from the City of Reno:
On February 11, 2015, Reno City Council approved the purchase of the Portal of Evolution sculpture fromÂartist Bryan Tedrick. The “winged sculpture” has been temporarily installed at City Plaza, across from Reno City Hall, since July 2012. At 8 a.m. tomorrow morning, crews will begin moving the sculpture to its new location on the east end of Bicentennial Park. A formal dedication is planned for the near future.The Reno Arts and Culture Commission and Public Art Committee recommended the sculpture’s purchase and believe that this sculpture is an excellent addition to the City’s Public Art Collection.
