This year is a Festival of “Celebration and Education” Clean & Green Technologies, the Natural World, & Many Cultures. Come kick off the season with the first big outdoor event of the year!

Spend the entire day exploring the many theme areas, educational exhibits and activities, live performances on three separate stages and a host of festive food selections. The “Great Outdoors” celebrates the wondrous and internationally acclaimed High Sierra region and the many recreation and conservation opportunities in our area.

“Animalia” caters to all of our furry, scaly and feathery neighbors – both pets and wildlife. Don’t miss the live animals, Pet Adoption Showcase and Pet Fashion Show this year! “The Garden” houses our local Farmer’s Market and green and growing exhibits. The “Earth Innovations” science fair grows every year, featuring new and creative technologies from our youngest innovators.

The “Artists’ Grove” features special exhibits by local artists, and the “Artisan Alley” showcases local handcrafted creations. The “Future of Transportation” has grown to highlight all manner of alternative fuel vehicles, bicycling programs and transit plans.

Watch for “Cast Your Vote” opportunities this year for many of the Contests and Prizes awarded and make yourself heard – get involved. And don’t forget to add your own Earth Day Pledge to the board. Learn amazing things at our variety of diverse workshops scheduled throughout the day. KIDS will enjoy the “Little Explorers Expedition” map, that identifies children’s activities and earns them a special prize.

Although there is no public parking within the park itself, the Earth Day Shuttle runs all day from the FREE PARKING at Reno High School parking lot – one block away – right to the center of activity in Idlewild.

Commemorate the day and support the event with a special Earth Day Reno 2015 T-shirt and unique wares from the many artistic and innovative shops and performance groups.
