Haunted mini-golf course brings spooky fun to Sparks

From haunted houses to trick-or-treating events, the region has options for Halloween celebrations

The Generator in Sparks is offering a haunting, artistic experience as the local maker space transforms into a spine-chilling mini-golf course created by local artists. The arts space is offering two weekends of eerie fun for families.

They are not the only place for Halloween fun. In Reno, there are at least two haunted houses: The Final Hour Haunted House open Thurs. Through Saturday until through Halloween. There is also Dark Corner Haunted House, in downtown at the National Bowling Stadium.

Sparks has Halloween House at The Legends, which our reviewer, Nora Tarte, said was scary but delightful. The “Beetlejuice” room will likely be a favorite, using angles to create an optical illusion where kids can appear twice the height of their parents, she wrote. Plus, there are dress-up items so you can play Beetlejuice yourself — or his reluctant bride.

If you are downtown on Oct. 26, you have three options: Dark Corner Haunt, the National Automobile Museum is hosting a “Spooktacular Carnival,” and the Riverwalk District is hosting “Halloween Hallow,” trick-or-treating at local businesses downtown.

The family-friendly Generator event is open to all ages and has creepy obstacles and surprises.

In addition to mini-golf, attendees can explore a vendor market featuring handmade items by local artists. There are also eats and drinks. Movies are playing at the bar.
