Wild West Motorsports Park, east of Sparks, hosted Endurofest this Saturday. Motorcyclists raced through some of the toughest terrain Northern Nevada has to offer

Part of the AMA Extreme Off-Road Series, top motorcycle Enduro athletes battled for the AMA Nevada State Championship, tackling man-made obstacles and giant boulder rock gardens on dirt bikes.

I spoke with Destry Abbott, a 25-plus year off-road racer who runs a ridding school about the track. He explained that racers will face multiple uphill sections made up of loose boulders and that this would pose the greatest challenge. He and over 20 students took time to practice on similar terrain the day before the race.

I can attest to the great challenge these uphill sections provided. Crashing was not unexpected as much as just par for the course, both motorcycles and riders were pushed to the limit during their two-hour race.
