Numerous potential candidates pitched their desires to serve for the open at-large city council member seat at today’s Reno City Council meeting
Devon Reese, Britton Griffith, Nathan Dupree, and Krystal Minera were chosen as finalists. The four received the most votes among all councilmembers.
The city had 138 potential candidates vying for the single seat.
Council members chose a selection process after determining a public vote would be too expensive.
“I want to commend everyone who has been a part of this process,” said Mayor Hillary Schieve. “I really tried to focus on people I’ve worked with in the last four years working on city issues. It was really hard for me. There’s so much talent here.”
The at-large seat became vacant after Council member David Bobzien left the position to become director of the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy.
The Council will select one of the four at a special meeting on Friday, February 15, 2019, at 2 p.m. A meet-and-greet is being held Thursday at 5:30
