Local Band Alert: ThisisReno takes a closer look at local bands in this series of 5-minute interviews. This week we chat with Erika Malone’s Eminence.
Formed in 2017, Erika Malone’s Eminence has an ever-changing lineup which includes the star of the show, Erika Malone (lead vocals), along with Paul R. Jones (drums), Mike Warner (bass), Paul Verburg (guitar), Gene Sweet (keyboard), CeCe Luvsmj (background/lead vocals), Monique Andrea (backup vocals), and Sylvia Nation guest starring (backing vocals). This configuration features wonderful vocal harmonies and choreographed dancing, making the band’s performances a real show.
Besides seeking band members who fit perfectly, Malone also has an individual goal to provide her audience with quality entertainment that is relatable and well-rehearsed. It is clear Malone runs the show, and her determination is fed by each subsequent accomplishment.
All the hard work is now paying off; each band member is able to flourish, and Malone’s own vocal ability has simply been described as “spot on.”
Recently I talked to Ms. Malone in an online interview:
