For one month starting Monday, May 1, Wolf Run Student Housing, Reno’s only locally-owned and operated student living facilities, is donating one dollar to The Nevada College Grants Fund for every new Instagram follower they gain. Having just joined the social media platform, Wolf Run was inspired by this new way to interact with students.

“Wolf Run is community-minded and family-rooted, so any way we can give back to the students, whether they are our tenants or not, we love to do so,” said Shellie Neeser-Brown, co-owner. “It’s very important to us to show our dedication and passion for higher education, so we want to make it a point to give back and stay involved wherever possible.”

The Nevada College Grants Fund allows students who are financially struggling the opportunity to attend college. According to the collegescholarships.org: the recession has changed the way a number of states operate in terms of education funding. Many states, including Nevada, have learned to deliver tuition aid results despite the decrease in tax revenue, by encouraging students and their families to take advantage of incentives for college savings accounts.

“The Instagram tie-in is just a unique and modern way for us to help students in need. Everyone deserves access to higher education. And it is with great joy that we are donating to this important Grant Fund,” said Neeser-Brown.
