The Newton Learning Center, northern Nevada’s only autism school, announced its eighth annual A Night in Black & White fundraising gala scheduled for May 13.
The Newton Learning Center is Nevada’s only non-public, non-profit school teaching students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. The center provides students with an individualized learning approach in a small, safe environment that helps reduce challenging behaviors and helps prepare them for life in the world.
“One in 68 students is diagnosed with autism,” said Newton Learning Center Site Director Rebecca Larrieu. “As that number continues to rise we need to be able to provide our students with the best available resources. Fundraisers, like our annual gala, help us do just that. Since we do not receive any local, state or federal funding, we rely strictly on donations, tuition and our fundraising efforts.”
A Night in Black & White will be held on May 13, 2017 at the Eldorado Convention Center. There will be a live DJ, raffle, and buffet-style dinner. Raffle prizes include six luxury vacations to the Caribbean, Reno Aces baseball tickets, Jet Blue flights, Disneyland tickets, and many more amazing gift and travel opportunities provided by local and national sponsors. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite or by contacting [email protected].
