CARSON CITY – In an effort to inspire more Nevadans to recycle, the Nevada Recycles program has partnered with The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo to support a recycled art contest. This statewide contest will feature Nevadans using recyclable materials to create artwork.

Entry forms and photos of artwork are due by November 6, 2015. There will be three different age ranges — kindergarten through 5th grade, 6th through 8th grade, 9th through 12th grade and adult. Each range will have cash prizes of $250 for first place, $100 for second and $50 for third.

Potential recyclable materials include tires, electronics, appliances, plastic bags, bottles, batteries and aluminum cans. Artwork from northern Nevada will be displayed in Carson City and submissions from southern Nevada will be displayed at the Palazzo.

For more information about the contest and submission guidelines, please visit: NevadaRecycles.nv.gov.
