In an email this morning to University of Nevada, Reno faculty and staff, Executive Vice President and Provost Kevin Carman announced that Huapei Chen resigned as Chief Information Officer.
“Dean Kathy Ray has agreed to serve as interim CIO,” Carman wrote. “She will of course continue her role as Dean of Libraries. I am very grateful to Kathy for her willingness to fill this critical need.
“We will launch a national search for a new CIO within the next few days.”
No reason was given for the resignation. Chen has been with UNR for just over a year.
