Red Cross Hires Marsh as Executive Director

zanny-marsh-7860591-3420786The American Red Cross Nevada Region announced this week that Zanny Marsh has been selected to serve as Executive Director for the American Red Cross in northern Nevada.

“Zanny is a welcome addition to the Red Cross team,” said Regional CEO Scott Emerson. “Her hard-work and dedication in northern Nevada businesses and non-profits will be invaluable in fulfilling the Mission of the Red Cross. We are very excited to have her on board.”

As Executive Director, Marsh will serve in a leadership role to promote the growth and quality of Red Cross programs and services throughout northern Nevada. Based in Reno, she will focus on program expansion and board support.

She brings over a decade of experience working for higher education institutions and nonprofits. She was appointed Faculty Emeritus by the University of Nevada, Reno and teaches a graduate course called Elders and Aging Population. She also sits on the Board of Trustees for KNPB, Chairs the Board of Seniors in Service, is a member of the Board of Directors for Truckee Meadows Tomorrow, and serves as a consultant for Nevada Alliance for Arts and Education.

Marsh obtained a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in justice management. She is also a recipient of the Clara Barton Honor Award, the highest award the Red Cross bestows upon volunteers. Her paid Red Cross career is preceded by her volunteer service career with the Red Cross.
