April 12: Fort Churchill: Then and Now
When you look at the ruins of Fort Churchill, it’s hard to imagine life and the landscape before the Fort. Join a ranger for an easy 0.6-mile walk and talk that explores the Fort Churchill area then and now. Please bring plenty of water, sun protection, and comfortable closed-toe shoes. Cameras, binoculars, insect repellant, and a picnic lunch are also encouraged.

April 18: Starry, Starry Night
Experience the night sky over Fort Churchill. Enjoy a tour of the moon, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn, along with spring galaxies, while talking about the night sky as a remarkable natural resource to be celebrated, protected and enjoyed. Please bring red flashlights only or flashlights wrapped in red plastic; red light does not negatively affect night vision. Please dress for the weather. Lawn chairs or blankets are encouraged.

April 25: Families at the Fort
Come and explore the rich history and natural wonders found in and around Fort Churchill State Historic Park. A variety of activities, crafts and short hikes will be part of the fun. Please bring plenty of water, sun protection, and comfortable closed-toe shoes. Cameras, binoculars, insect repellant and a picnic lunch are also encouraged.

All events are open to the public and free of charge; however, there is an entrance fee into the park of $7 per vehicle (cash or check only). Nevada residents receive a $2 discount. Program schedules are subject to change due to weather and staffing. When going on any hike, please be sure to bring plenty of water and wear appropriate footwear. Fort Churchill is located 8 miles south of Silver Springs, NV on Highway 95A. Turn onto the Fort Churchill road, and the park is one mile in on the left.
