American Red Cross volunteers are assisting 53 people after a apartment fire providing comfort and care at 2951 Lakeside Drive near Brinkby Avenue.

Volunteers are meeting with the residents and will ensure everyone has a safe place to sleep and has food, clothing, medication and other essentials.

Over the next several days, Red Cross client casework volunteers will stay in contact with the family and provide referrals, as they begin their road to recovery.

Red Cross volunteers respond to a disaster, usually a home fire, every 4 days in Northern Nevada. Join the American Red Cross and The Professional Firefighters of Nevada and help a local family affected by a home fire by making a donation to the Fire Hurts … Red Cross Helps campaign.
