Dr. Connie Mariano, Presidential Physician, to Speak at 2015 Salute to Women of Achievement

Dr. Connie Mariano, former Director of the White House Medical Unit and White House physician to three American presidents, will be the keynote speaker at the Nevada Women’s Fund’s 2015 Salute to Women of Achievement Luncheon. The luncheon will be May 28, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the JA Nugget in Sparks.

Dr. Mariano served nine years at the White House where she was physician to presidents George H.W. Bush, William Jefferson Clinton and George W. Bush. In 1994, Dr. Mariano was named Director of the White House Medical Unit and became the first Filipino-American to be promoted to Navy rear admiral. Her list of firsts also includes first woman director of the White House Medical Unit.

An expert on the care of VIPs, celebrities, and world leaders, Dr. Mariano is a frequent guest speaker at international conferences as well as on media specials such as CNN’s “The Health of the President.”
With over thirty years in the medical profession, Dr. Mariano is a frequent guest speaker on television and print media on the topics of care to VIPs, presidential disability, travel medicine, and optimizing quality of care. She is the author of the book, “The White House Doctor: My Patients were Presidents, A Memoir,” published in 2010 by St. Martin’s Press.
