The Reno Rodeo Foundation has been serving the Reno community since 1986, making a difference in the lives of children and families throughout the city by providing scholarships and community grants. Recently, they’ve increased the breadth of their community support by providing aid to children and community organizations, as well as providing rural Nevada high school graduates with scholarships that enable them to attend college.
On February 18, the Reno Rodeo Association presented the Reno Rodeo Foundation with a check for $275,000 during an event at the Eldorado. RRA president Bill Berterlson was on hand to present the check. He emphasized the importance of the RRF and the success of the Reno Rodeo. “The success of the Reno Rodeo is directly related to all the hard work of the hundreds of dedicated Reno Rodeo volunteers. To each and every one of you, I extend a heartfelt thank
you.”
This recent gift will help the RRF feed and clothe neglected and foster children throughout Reno and Sparks, support rural students who want to attend college, and aid a number of other worthwhile community causes. According to Mark Elston, president of RRF, “[the] result of the efforts from Reno Rodeo volunteers, who worked tirelessly during the rodeo, [direclty benefits] our community.”
