Hutchison officially vacated the office of State Senator representing Senate District No.6 as of 5 p.m. today in order to serve as Lt. Governor.
With his resignation the Clark County Commission will be able to move forward in a smooth and transparent manner to appoint a new state senator to represent the constituents of Senate District No. 6.

Miriam Hodgman is originally from San Francisco. She previously was the communications coordinator for the largest hunger-relief organization in Sonoma County, California. She has a bachelor’s degree in American history, with a minor in American Indian studies, from San Francisco State University, and has a master’s degree in public administration from Sonoma State University.
