The St. Vincent’s Food Pantry is asking the community to help us by making non-perishable food donations for our annual Feeding Families Food Drive. Every year, we choose one day during the holiday season to give away turkeys and fixings for a holiday meal to about 2,000 local families in need. This food will help provide our clients with the ingredients for a special holiday meal to cook at home. This box of food is in addition to our clients’ regular monthly food box.

We are asking the community to help us by donating the following:

  • -Frozen hams and turkeys
  • -Boxed stuffing mix
  • -Instant mashed potatoes
  • -Canned cranberry sauce
  • -Canned vegetables and fruit
  • -Custard, pudding and desserts

Food items can be dropped off at our Food Pantry at 500 East Fourth Street in downtown Reno Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Businesses and individuals willing to host a food drive can call (775)322-7073 ext. 235 to schedule a barrel delivery and pick up. The food boxes will be distributed to hungry families by our St. Vincent’s Food Pantry on Wednesday, December 10th, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Families wishing to receive food must pre-register at the St. Vincent’s Food Pantry during the week of December 1st through 5th. To schedule an interview with a Food Pantry staff member or client, call Auburn Harrison at (775)322-7073 ext. 235.
