NNMC’s Alan Olive, Dr. Randall Pierce named Healthcare Heroes

oliveheadshot-196x300-3976711-6175586 dr-randall-pierce_011811-199x300-2365861-2005715SPARKS — Alan Olive, CEO of Northern Nevada Medical Center, and Randall Pierce, M.D., the Medical Director for Diagnostic Imaging and Chairman of the Board for Northern Nevada Medical Center, were recently recognized as Healthcare Heroes by Nevada Business Magazine.

Olive became CEO of NNMC in June 2013. Under Olive’s leadership, NNMC has received the Nevada Hospital Association’s Quality Improvement Award and was recognized by the Joint Comission for core measures. Since Olive has been the CEO, NNMC has seen a growing number of patients and has expanded its telestroke and telemedicine programs into rural areas.

Pierce, a board certified radiologist, was recognized for his passion for patient care. Under Pierce’s leadership, NNMC streamlined its nuclear cardiac imaging, cutting the time in half. NNMC has also acquired advanced equipment and American College of Radiology acredation with the help of Pierce.

The Healthcare Hero Program is sponsored by Nevada Business Magazine and Blue Cross Blue Shield and honors exceptional healthcare professionals in Nevada. Two events are held to honor these professionals and the proceeds from both benefit Nevada students who wish to go into healthcare.
