According to many online sources, Poeville, Nevada was founded in 1864. It was a mining community — silver and gold — with a population that peaked at about 200. Getting to Poeville can be accomplished on many dirt trails or the official Peavine Road. Peavine Road is unpaved and eventually reaches Peavine Peak.
