Hunters can learn about field dressing practices, meat handling and conservation

unr-ex-6526003-1530259University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and the University of Nevada, Reno College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources are collaborating with the Nevada Department of Wildlife to provide a hands-on workshop for Nevada hunters on field dressing techniques, safe handling and transportation of meat, and conservation. This class will be offered in Reno, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on July 31, Aug. 21 and Aug. 28.

The first part of the course will be classroom discussions led by Nevada Department of Wildlife staff, and the second portion of the course will be hands-on experience at the Wolf Pack Meats facility. Participants will be provided with sheep or goat carcasses to break down.

Cost for the workshop is $110 and includes all materials and lunch. All sessions will be held at 8311 Cleanwater Way and will be limited to 15 participants.
