Downtown will once again become home to hundreds of blood-suckers as the Reno Vampire Crawl descends upon local taverns and clubs for a fun time, exclusive specials and the chance to win cash in costume contests. The event, which will include 14 different local and casino bars, clubs and taverns, begins at 8 pm starting at both Waterfall Bar and Rum Bullions inside Silver Legacy Casino.
This year’s event takes place on a Friday, a first for the event that has taken place for over half a decade. Organizers say that the move from Valentine’s weekend to a warmer date in May, as well as a team up with HauntX, an annual haunter’s convention, are responsible for the change.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to purchase a commemorative crawl cup and map at Junkee Clothing Exchange and other retailers or even online at www.renovampirecrawl.com. Reno has become the crawl capital in recent years, as holiday celebrations including bar crawls have boosted tourism and pumped money into the local economy while providing entertainment for both locals and tourists alike.
