billy_beane_2006-6659268-7994603WIN, northern Nevada’s networking organization, will award this year’s WIN scholarship recipients at the 28th annual WIN lecture series dinner held on Friday, May 16 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom in the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.

This year’s recipients are local high school students and twin brothers, Antonio Solorio Ramirez and Jose Solorio Ramirez, both of High School.

The Ramirez brothers will each receive a $5,000 WIN Scholarship to apply to secondary education.

Sponsored by Nevada State Bank, the WIN scholarships recognize outstanding high school students who have demonstrated the ability to lead others in endeavors that have improved their community and their schools.

The WIN Lecture Series Dinner is the organization’s annual fundraising gala event. This year’s dinner will feature speaker Billy Beane, Oakland A’s manager. Beane, subject of the best-selling book and 2011 hit movie, Moneyball, will highlight how his “Moneyball philosophy” has been adopted by organizations of all sizes, across all industries, as a way to more effectively, efficiently and profitably manage their assets.
