WASHOE COUNTY PARKS NEWS — With spring in full bloom, many people are starting to think green.
Whether you want to spruce up an old garden or start a new one, the annual plant sale at the Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden is a one-stop-shop.
The popular public sale is quickly becoming one of the largest events of its kind in the region. This year, browse more than 3,000 plants for sale including flowering perennials, trees, low-water use, exotic, adaptive, native, and GMO-free vegetables.
If you’re not sure where to begin, May Arboretum Society members will be on hand help you find the perfect addition to your garden. The plant sale is first-come, first-serve and sells out every year so plan to get there early. Proceeds from the sale go to the May Arboretum and Botanical Garden for special projects. This year, the funds will help upgrade Kristin’s Garden.
