Pedestrian killed in NW Reno hit and run

1300123_fff2-9251250-8830967A pedestrian who was hit by a pickup truck on Mae Anne Avenue at about 8 p.m. last night died of her injuries after the driver fled. The approximately 50-year-old woman was lying in the roadway and unresponsive on Mae Anne between Coit Plaza and Sierra Highlands Drive when Reno police responded.

Lifesaving efforts were attempted by REMSA, but the victim succumbed to her injuries and died on the scene. Her name is being withheld pending her identification.

Witnesses said the victim was struck by a dark, full-sized pickup truck. The suspected hit-and-run driver had fled the area.
