Veteran’s Day at the Guest House – a celebration of the men and women who serve our country

image006-6137438-4977384VETERANS GUEST HOUSE NEWS RELEASE – At the Guest House, Veteran’s Day begins with a ceremony that acknowledges the effects of Agent Orange on our veterans from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This ceremony is part of a national one that culminates with the release of orange balloons at 9:30 a.m. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. is the City of Reno’s Veterans Day Parade. The route starts at Powning Park and travels north to 5th Street. The Guest House will be there with military vehicles in the parade with board members and friends riding along. From 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., the public is invited to stop by for the “Open House at Veterans Guest House” after the parade. Come enjoy the company of friends, tour our houses and enjoy refreshments. The location is 880 Locust Street, in Reno.

The Veterans Guest House provides United States Military service veterans and their families’ temporary overnight accommodations when receiving treatment at a medical facility in the Reno/Sparks area. It also accommodates veterans traveling to Reno for outpatient medical care. The majority of guests receive treatment at the Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC). The VAMC covers 100,000 square miles from Bishop to Auburn, Elko and Ely. The Veterans Guest House is located at 880 Locust Street in Reno, Nevada. Funded by private donations.
