Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District breaks ground on Mogul station today

The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the new fire station in Mogul at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14.

Station #35 at 10201 W. Fourth St. is scheduled to begin operations in May 2014 and will house one engine, one water tender and one brush truck with a staff of 3-4 firefighters.

“This new station replaces a 40-year-old modular building,” said TMFPD Chief Charles Moore. “The new location will provide response times that meet the District’s standards to the Caughlin Ranch and Verdi communities.”

Moore added the architectural firm for the new station is TSK of Reno and the contractor is Building Solutions.

WHO: Washoe County Vice Chair Bonnie Weber, District 5, and Washoe County Commissioner Kitty Jung, District 3, are scheduled to attend, along with other community leaders
