us-marshal-logo-150x150-6127409-2980293Two wanted fugitives, both with unrelated cases, were arrested in the past two days by the U.S. Marshals led Fugitive Task Force.

Stephen Elite Bailey was arrested this evening in the vicinity of 400 West 4th St. Bailey is the last of four suspects wanted in connection with an armed home invasion which occurred on May 5 in Kutztown, Pa.

Yesterday the Task Force was contacted by their Pennsylvania counterparts with information Bailey fled to Reno. Investigators were able to identify and arrest him as he was walking on 4th Street, without incident. He was booked into the Washoe County Jail while awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.

Karen Lynn Gale was arrested yesterday at 2101 Sullivan Lane in Sparks. She was taken into custody with the assistance of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Sparks Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force. She was arrested following a standoff in which she attempted to injure herself and resulted in the closure of Sullivan Lane.

Gale was arrested on two outstanding federal warrants alleging failure to appear and violation of pre-trial release. Her underlying federal offense is possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.

District of Nevada U.S. Marshal Christopher Hoye stated, “These arrests by our multi-agency fugitive task force shows fugitives cannot escape justice. We thank our local law enforcement partners for their vital assistance and continued partnership to combat violent crime in Northern Nevada.”

The Northern Nevada U.S. Marshals Service led task force is a partnership comprising law enforcement investigators from the United States Marshals Service, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada Department of Public Safety (Probation & Parole) and Sparks Police Department. The Task Force combines the resources and expertise of local, state, and federal law enforcement in a coordinated effort to arrest dangerous fugitives and pursue sexual offenders wherever they are located. The United States Marshals Service leads similar multi-agency task forces throughout the country.
