RPD NEWS RELEASE
Yesterday at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the Wells Fargo on Neil Road, a suspect entered the bank and demanded money while brandishing a hand gun. A witness was able to provide an accurate suspect and vehicle description for officers.
Within minutes a nearby officer, Officer Friberg, located the vehicle and the suspect in the area of the Atlantis Hotel Casino. Inside the vehicle, officers located the stolen money and an air soft pistol. The FBI was contacted and responded to the scene as well.
Officers arrested Jose Vasquez-Mendoza, 39.
