Tip-off is 3 p.m.

Senior guard Kelli Thompson leads the Lady Rebels with 18.7 ppg. UNLV leads the overall series between the two basketball programs 25-6 and have won the last five meetings. Danika Sharp led the team in the 66-61 loss on Jan. 30 with a game high 22 points. Nevada will look for its first win at UNLV. The last Wolf Pack victory occurred during the 2007-08 season, in a 84-63 win at Lawlor Events Center.

“We know the significance of the Governor’s Series and feel like we had a close competitive game in our last meeting with UNLV,” head coach Jane Albright said. “We have two more road games before we close out the regular season at home. We will look to figure out a way to get a few more stops on the defensive end and score more efficiently on the offensive end.”

GOVERNOR’S SERIES

On October 8, 2012 Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval announced the launch of the Governor’s Series, presented by NV Energy. This historic, new competition establishes a formal head-to-head athletic and academic challenge between longtime rivals — the UNLV Rebels and the Nevada Wolf Pack. The all-encompassing competition will annually crown one school the winner of the Governor’s Series.  The Wolf Pack currently lead the series 10.5-7.5.  Nevada earned three points in football, cross country, and a higher finish at the MW indoor track and field championships plus a split of the three points in soccer to total 10.5.  The Rebels earned three points in volleyball, a higher finish at the MW swimming/diving championships and 1.5 in the soccer split.
