The 4th Annual High Fives Bocce Ball Tournament presented by Squaw Valley / Alpine Meadows, GoPro and the Truckee River Winery will take place Sunday, Sept. 23 at 12 p.m. at the Truckee River Winery located at 11467 Brockway Road, Truckee, Calif. 96161. More than 100 people are expected to attend the event, including professional snowboarder Nate Holland, professional skier KC Deane and Winter Empowerment Fund recipient Grant Korgan (http://www.korgmovement.com/)

“This is a great tournament that brings together both young and old bocce enthusiasts while raising money and awareness for the High Fives Foundation and the many athletes it supports,” said Katherine Jones, Director of Sales and Marketing, Truckee River Winery. “We are big bocce fans and love the spirit of this tournament because of the teams’ unique and creative names, their costumes and their positive attitudes.”

A total of 40 two-person teams have registered to compete for amazing prizes and bragging rights while raising funds for winter action sports athletes that have suffered a life-altering injury.

Event prizes include, but are not limited to: gift certificates to the Truckee River Winery, season passes to Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows, Big Truck brand hats, GoPro HD Hero2 Cameras, Armada, Burton and Sessions Outerwear kits, Arcade belts, Ride Snowboards and much more.

Spectators are encouraged to attend and are welcome to watch the event and cheer on friends and family competing in the tournament. The High Fives Foundation will have $10 commemorative wine glass on sale at the event, while supplies last.

Participants and spectators will enjoy fine wine from the Truckee River Winery, food from the Full Belly Deli, Cabot Creamery Cooperative and Mamasake Squaw as well as music from the Silver Boombox Thief.
