NEVADA NATIONAL GUARD NEWS RELEASE

CARSON CITY – Congressman Mark Amodei is set to visit the Nevada National Guard Military Family Service Center Monday at 11 a.m. to endorse the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program in the Silver State.

With his signature, Amodei joins local employers in recognizing the service members of the National Guard and Reserve and their tremendous contributions to the community. The facility is located at 685 East Plumb Lane in Reno.

“(Hiring Guard members) makes good business sense. These are disciplined, skilled workers who display pride, leadership, responsibility and professionalism in what they do,” said Jenetah Avant, the program support manager for the state ESGR program. “We appreciate the support Congressman Amodei has already given us and will demonstrate again on Monday.”

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense organization that promotes cooperation and understanding between Reserve components and their civilian employers to assist resolving conflicts that may arise from one’s military commitment. The organization recognizes the critical role civilian employers play in the defense of the nation by complying with existing employment laws protecting the rights of workers who serve in the Guard and Reserve components.
