Blue Moon Promotions, northern Nevada’s premier advertising and promotional products supplier, has selected three local nonprofits to receive funding from the One Community Grant. Sierra Nevada Journeys will receive $10,000, The Ridge House will receive $5,000 and the Nevada Discovery Museum will receive $2,500.
“We are proud to be able to support our communities nonprofits organizations,” said Klaus Grimm, owner of Blue Moon Promotions. “Blue Moon supports our local nonprofits in order to help them continue the important work they do to meet our community’s ever-growing needs. The One Community Grant will help Sierra Nevada Journeys, The Ridge House and the Nevada Discovery Museum in their efforts to better serve the community and improve the quality of life in northern Nevada.”
Blue Moon Promotions received 162 applications from northern Nevada nonprofits and conducted an in-depth review process for the One Community Grant.
“It was very difficult to narrow down the 162 applications to three grant recipients,” Grimm said. “Every application we received was well-written and demonstrated the true importance and strength of these nonprofit groups in northern Nevada.”
Sierra Nevada Journeys’ works to encourage youth and the community to take care of the environment through education, leadership development and service. The Ridge House works to help former criminals reenter society. The Nevada Discovery Museum’s mission is to inspiring curiosity, creativity and the joy of lifelong learning.
The $2,500 in grant funding received by the Nevada Discovery Museum will go to fund field trips to the museum for the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows.
Blue Moon Promotions, owned by Klaus and Kristin Grimm, has been giving back to the northern Nevada community for many years through donations, volunteering and community outreach. Donations already given in 2011 have benefited several local organizations including the Boys and Girls Club, Sage Ridge School, Step2 and Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful.
