This luncheon lecture is designed to help the community members interact with experts and understand whether minimally invasive robotic surgery may be necessary or even an option for themselves or family members. Attendees will be able to see and touch the surgical robot after the presentation.
In northern Nevada, Renown Regional Medical Center has the first and only Institute for Robotic Surgery featuring the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System. This surgical technology benefits patients with:
- faster recovery times
- smaller incisions
- lower risks of infection
- reduced pain
In addition to physician-guided surgery using the da Vinci® system, surgeons also use laparoscopy, another form of minimally invasive technology, to treat patients. Laparoscopic operations are performed through small incisions in the abdomen allowing patients access to a broad spectrum of surgical options.
COST:
Lunch and admission will be provided for $10.
